Teachworks’ Website Booking Plugin offers an excellent opportunity for tutoring companies to enhance client engagement and speed up the booking process directly from their website.
This article is the first installment of a three-part series that guides you through adding your first booking option, open class, and course. In this edition, our focus is on adding a booking option to enable clients to schedule lessons with their preferred teachers.
Stay tuned for more articles in this series to optimize your website and create a more user-friendly experience for your clients.
What is the Website Booking Plugin?
The Website Booking Plugin is a free Teachworks add-on that allows you to integrate a booking solution directly onto your website. Clients, both new and existing, can utilize the plugin to book lessons, join open classes, and enroll in courses based on your configured settings. Integrated with your Teachworks account, all booking information becomes immediately available after a client submission.
Teachworks’ Website Booking comes with customizable settings, including booking modes, general settings, button appearance settings, and more.

After selecting your settings and customizing the button to match your branding, you can easily add the plugin to your website by copying the provided code.
For more detailed information about the available settings, visit our knowledge base: Website Booking Plugin. If you would like to view a live demo of this feature, you can find one here: Website Booking Plugin Demo.
Adding Your First Booking Option
If you’ve chosen “Lesson Booking” or “Both” under Booking Modes on the Website Booking Plugin settings page, you can start adding booking options. These options represent the choices your clients have when booking a lesson.
Your list of booking options can be as simple or elaborate as you need. For example, you could add a generic “English Tutoring” booking option, or something more detailed, such as “English Tutoring Grade 6”. If you offer free trial lessons, you can also add a booking option to manage these.
To add your first booking option, follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to “Step 2 of 5 – Booking Options” from the Website Booking Plugin Settings page.

2. Click the “Add” button to add a new booking option.

3. Complete all the relevant fields:
- Display Name: This is the label that will appear on the booking form.
- Service: This is the service that will be set for the booking once a client has completed the booking process. This will also determine the cost of the lesson.
- Description: This field is optional, but it’s useful for providing clients with more information about a particular booking option. If you have a longer list of booking options, this is particularly useful.
- Duration: The duration of the lesson for the booking option.
- Bookable Teachers: Here you can choose to display all teachers, or you can select specific teachers by subject or by name.

- Status: Here you can choose to set the booking option to “Enabled” to display it to clients or “Disabled” if you would like to hide it.
4. Save the form. If you’re ready to add more Booking Options right away, you can click the “Save & Add Another” button.

The Booking Process
Now that you’ve added your first booking option, the workflow will look something like this when your clients navigate through the various booking steps:
1. Clients visit your website and click the booking button.

2. They are presented with the various booking options you’ve added.

3. Next, they can choose the teacher/tutor they want to book.

4. After selecting a teacher/tutor, they can select an available time slot (this is determined by the availability of the selected teacher/tutor).

5. Next, they will need to enter their details. You can expand this form with additional fields as needed.
6. Finally, the client will be able to review their booking information and click the “Complete Booking” option.
Additional Booking Features
The Website Booking Plugin offers several additional features that you can enable based on your specific requirements. For example, if you’re using our Stripe Integration, you can require clients to pay at the time of booking.
