Keeping Track of Cancellation Trends with the Customer Cancellation Add-on
A common problem that many tutoring companies encounter is the challenge of frequent cancellations and no-shows from their clients.
Teachworks’ Customer Cancellation Add-on offers an effective solution to this problem. You can setup the Customer Cancellation Add-on to require a cancellation reason, which allows you to track the reasons your clients are cancelling their lessons.
By tracking cancellation reasons, your company can implement processes to identify the common reasons or issues so that you can deal with them proactively.
This article will take you through the process of enabling the “Cancellation Reason” setting, as well as the way you can keep track of all the cancellations your customers have made.
Enabling the “Cancellation Reason” Setting
If you have the Customer Cancellation Add-on enabled, you can follow the steps below to enable the “Cancellation Reason” setting:
- Go to the Integrations & Add-ons page in your Teachworks account and click “Manage” under the Customer Cancellation Add-on.
- On the Settings page, enable the “Cancellation Reason” option and save the form.

Once this setting has been enabled a text field will be included above the “Cancel Lesson” button that will require your customers to include details about why they would like to cancel a lesson.

Tracking Lesson Cancellation Reasons
Now that your customers are required to submit their reasons for cancelling lessons, you can locate this information in the “Lesson Cancellations” table in the “Comments” column, found under the “Calendar” tab.
You can export this table to an Excel file using the “Download Cancellations” link, allowing you to analyze the data, track trends and identify any underlying issues.
