Easy Password Management: Resetting Your Teachworks Password
At Teachworks, we prioritize your data security and believe in a straightforward user experience. Setting and updating your password is both quick and secure. In this article, we will guide you through the process of resetting your Teachworks password, and also explore the 2-Factor Authentication Add-on in more detail.
Setting Your Initial Teachworks Password
Upon signing up for a Teachworks account, you will receive an email containing a unique, time-sensitive confirmation link. Click this link to securely confirm your account and set your password.
The process is similar for your employees and clients. Once you’ve enabled user accounts for them, they will receive the same email and will be able to set their preferred password.
Resetting Your Password
If you need to change your password later on, you can follow one of the methods below depending on the situation.
1. Logged in
If you are logged in, and you know your current password, you can go to Account & Settings > Update Password to initiate the process. On this page, you will be asked to enter your current password, your new desired password, and to confirm the new password. You can then click the “Submit” button to confirm the change.
The process is the same for your employees and clients, with one exception. They can click the “Account” link in their account to find the “Update Password” option.
2. Logged out
If you are logged out, or you don’t recall your password, you can use this method. Go to your company’s login page and click the “Reset Your Password” link.
You will be asked to enter your email address, and if the email address is associated with an account, you will receive a “Reset Password Instructions” email with a link that you can click to set a new password.
If your employees or clients have forgotten their password, they can follow the same process to reset their password. Additionally, you can initiate the process for them by entering their email address when prompted.
Enabling 2-Factor Authentication
If you would like to further strengthen your account security, you can enable our 2-Factor Authentication Add-on. This add-on can be enabled in the administrator account, staff accounts and/or teacher accounts.
The 2-Factor Authentication Add-on requires users to enter a unique 6-digit code from an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 2FAS Authenticator or Authy. This code is entered in addition to a user’s username and password as an additional step to prevent unauthorized access.
