New Feature: Teachworks’ Google Maps Integration

We’re happy to introduce a new feature that simplifies how you handle and access addresses within Teachworks – the “Google Maps for Addresses” setting.

In this article, we’ll provide a brief overview of this new addition and how it can benefit your tutoring business.

Where To Find The Setting

You can find this feature by going to Account & Settings > Account Settings > Miscellaneous Settings. In this section, you’ll find the “Google Maps for Addresses” setting.

How It Works

If the “Google Maps for Addresses” setting is set to “on”, a link to Google Maps will be displayed on client profiles and locations, provided you’ve entered a valid physical address.

Easy Access to Student Addresses on the Go

If your tutors provide face-to-face lessons at a student’s home, they can quickly find the correct address while on the go. All they need to do is login to their Teachworks account, navigate to the relevant student’s profile and click the Google Map link to automatically open the student’s address in Google Maps.  

Improved Student Experience

If students come to your tutoring center for their lessons, the “Google Maps for Addresses” setting makes it easy for them to find your address. The feature is especially useful for new students, or students switching to another location. If you’ve enabled user accounts, students and their parents can login to Teachworks, find the lesson in the calendar, and click the “View” link. The modal will display a “Google Map” link that they can click to easily navigate to your tutoring center.

Easy access to location information ensures a smooth and stress-free start for new students and a simpler transition for student’s switching to a new location.

Including Addresses in Reminder Emails

If you’ve added addresses for your various locations, you can edit the “Lesson Reminder Templates” for Families and Students to include the {LOCATION-ADDRESS} merge tag. This merge tag dynamically inserts the address associated with a student’s lesson into the reminder email.

While this feature is separate from the Google Maps Integration, it still contributes to ensuring that students reach their lesson venues with ease.
